Boat House Plus
Each summer Camp Kirkham comes alive as a hundred campers settle in for two weeks of fun and learning in the woods. The camp maintains a collection of small watercraft so the kids have an opportunity to sail and row. Result: Fifty weeks a year, the camp needs a weatherproof place to secure their fleet.
The camp corporation came to us requesting a boat storage facility. We added value by designing the building so it could be easily converted to flexible meeting or recreational space during the hectic two weeks of summer camp.
Costs were contained by using modular stud, truss, and siding panels. The use of large roll-up security doors allow for easy loading and unloading of boats. Removable boat racks create a column-free space that can accommodate a variety of recreational activities from small card games to a billiard tournament.
