Living Loft

This loft—located in one of the newly converted brick-and-beam warehouse buildings at Fort Point Place—boasts 1,300 square feet of open space with exposed masonry walls, hardwood floors, and sandblasted heavy timber beams and columns.

A couple of savvy local investors purchased the unit with the idea of adding a few additional luxuries and reselling. One key upgrade is a new wood-burning fireplace. The rough-cut, oversized hearth and floor-to-ceiling black granite tile keep the fireplace in scale with the large open loft.

Obscured glass and steel panels swing on pivot hinges so the kitchen and dining area can be opened to the rest of the loft or separated for privacy.

Professional appliances and carefully chosen finishes in the new kitchen reflect the classic loft design. Crisp low voltage lighting contributes to the dramatic atmosphere. New skylights flood the kitchen and living area with light and allow sea breezes to circulate through the space.
