Depot Farms
Depot Farms is a new active adult community in Broad Brook, Connecticut. ENA led all phases of the project — providing the developers with programming, site planning, architectural design, and marketing materials.
Like a traditional hamlet, the community includes walking paths, lampposts, and a central village green with a gazebo. A planned activity center features a swimming pool, weight room, dance studio and meeting spaces.
The clustered houses have private patios and attached garages. Echoing the architecture of the adjacent tobacco barns and farmhouses, the houses also include trellised entrances and board-and-batten siding. Cupolas provide natural ventilation that lowers cooling costs. High living room windows and open lofts make the most of the site’s gorgeous long field views.
Each house centers on a Great Room that accommodates a variety of interior layouts. Kitchens, master bedrooms, studies and guest rooms are located in prefabricated wings that attach to the Great Room. Owners can pick from a variety of sites and five different home styles, including three different detached single-family designs, a duplex and a triplex.
All designs include first-floor master suites, country kitchens and accessible baths. Optional upgrades include distinctive finishes, generous fireplaces, built-ins and more.
